This dashboard has been developed using data extracted from both the California Reportable Disease Information Exchange (CalREDIE) and the California Health and Human Services Agency's Common Network for Electronic Data Exchange and Communications (CalCONNECT).

- Case counts: We have adjusted case counts to align with the State of California's tracking system. We will continue to display confirmed cases only, residents with a positive molecular test (i.e., PCR test). Changes now reflect disease incidence rather than individual patient cases. Increased counts also include cases of reinfection.
- Active/Recovered Cases: We will no longer display "active" and "recovered" cases. For more accurate indicators of community transmission levels, you can access wastewater surveillance data on the California’s Cal-SuWers Network Dashboard, as well as COVID-19 and other respiratory virus trends at Respiratory Virus Dashboard (ca.gov).
- State and Federal Prison Cases: To align with State metrics, we do not display State and Federal prison cases on this dashboard. You can find information on state prison cases at https://www.cdcr.ca.gov/covid19/population-status-tracking/. Please note that excluding these cases may reduce the previously reported number of positive cases.
